A few weeks ago the German brand showed the first images of its interior and a few days ago the first exterior photographs leaked on the internet, but now the new Mercedes-Benz G Class is presented with all its grandeur at the Detroit Motor Show 2018.
The new generation of the iconic German all-terrain brand has managed to retain most of its unchanged signs of identity, true to a design that has hardly changed over its four decades of history. But despite its appearance, the new generation of the G Class debut a new chassis, engines and transmissions.
Where the model lived a revolution was on the inside, which debuts a new format for its dashboard and adds the latest technologies in terms of safety, connectivity and driving aids.
In addition, it releases a new configurable digital instrumentation that counts on two screens of 12.3 inches. The left screen is the one that fulfills the functions of the instrument panel, while the one on the right is used by the infotainment system and the integrated navigator.
The available equipment belongs to the most luxurious vehicles of the German brand and includes, among other things, natural seat covers for seats like ford f-150 covers, dashboard and doors, as well as wood and carbon fiber trim.
In addition, it offers automatic two-zone air conditioning with rear seats, ventilated heated seats with massage function and a hi-fi sound system that can be controlled through a touch control located in the center console.
In relation to its mechanics, the German manufacturer guarantees that it is more dynamic and agile than the previous model when traveling off the asphalt, retaining its all-terrain qualities with a self-locking and reduced differential. The front suspension of double triangles and rigid rear axle has been developed in collaboration with the AMG and as an option can equip adaptive dampers.
The only engine that has been confirmed so far is what will be used by the G 500 version, a 4.0-liter V8 biturbo that develops 422 horsepower and a maximum torque of 610 Nm, coupled with a new 9G-Tronic automatic transmission with torque and nine speeds.
2019 – MERCEDES-BENZ S 560e
Mercedes-Benz is advancing at full speed in the plug-in hybrids market. This time the German brand presents the Mercedes-Benz S 560e. The flagship of the German brand appears ecological, while promising a fantastic performance.
This is possible thanks to its 3.0-liter V6 gasoline engine with 367 hp, which comes in combination with a not inconsiderable 121 hp electric motor, acting directly on the nine-speed automatic transmission. Thus, its combined horsepower is 483 hp and its maximum torque of 700 Nm. This increase puts it well above its predecessor, the S 500 Plug-In Hybrid. A version that was available only with the long chassis and that delivered 442 horsepower and 649 Nm of maximum torque.
The Mercedes-Benz S 560e accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 5 seconds and reaches 250 km / h. If you use only the electric motor, you can exceed 130 km / h and cover a distance of 50 kilometers. An autonomy that is due to its battery of 13.5 kWh.
The Mercedes-Benz S 560e can be fully charged in 1 ½ hours if the next-generation Mercedes-Benz Wallbox chargers are used. A time that expands to 5 hours in a conventional household outlet. Leaving with the battery fully charged, it is capable of homologating a combined fuel consumption of between 38.5 and 40 km / l, and CO2 emissions between 57-59 mg / km. Its combined electric consumption is between 20.0 and 20.2 kWh / 100 km). The brand is already accepting orders from the S 560e in Europe.

The surname Pullman is synonymous with refinement, refinement and well-being within the Mercedes-Maybach. In terms of aesthetics, one of the most evident changes is the incorporation of a new grille inspired by the Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 Concept. To this we must add new 20-inch alloy wheels and two new colors for the body: Magma Gray and Mahogany Brown.
But the most significant novelty of the Mercedes-Maybach S 650 Pullman lies in its passenger compartment. It is a vehicle to be availed in its path with all kinds of facilities. 2018 – MERCEDES-AMG E 63 S BY BRABUS & FOSTLA
The Mercedes-AMG E 63 S 4MATIC is one of the most radical sedans on the market, hiding under the hood a huge 4.0-liter V8 twin-turbo engine that produces 612 horsepower and 850 Nm of maximum torque. But Brabus thought those numbers were not enough and the result is striking.
The well-known German coach has transformed the AMG E 63 S into an authentic rocket, ideal for long trips on German autobahns. To give you an idea of what we are talking about, Brabus has left this Mercedes-AMG 800 bhp with 1,000 Nm of maximum torque available at 3,500 rpm.
These are impressive numbers that make this Mercedes-AMG E 63 S accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in just 3 seconds. It is a supersport level record, but it should be remembered that we are talking about a sedan that weighs two tons and measures 5 meters in length.
In addition to this increased power Brabus had the collaboration of his compatriot coach Fostla, who equipped the E 63 S with a new front spoiler in carbon, a new exhaust system and a new rear diffuser with a fog light in the style of Formula 1.
The car also has a set of 21-inch wheels with black finish that contrast with the brass calipers and the green body of the car.
2018 – MERCEDES-AMG G 63 BRABUS 700 4X4² FINAL EDITION
Mercedes-Benz has already introduced the new G Class, but that does not mean that the old model has retired. Brabus has just introduced the latest version of the old G Class. Named Brabus 700 4×4² Final Edition, it is a Mercedes-AMG G 63 transformed into a 4×4².
As the name suggests, this ‘G’ produces fantastic 700 horsepower, a result obtained with the new turbos that Brabus installed in the old V8 biturbo 5.5-liter engine. The maximum torque is set at 960 Nm, the acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h is done in 5 seconds and the maximum speed is electronically limited to 210 km / h.
They are impressive numbers, mainly because we are dealing with a car with a weight around 2.5 tons. But these records do not detract from the off-road capabilities of this model, quite the contrary. It turns out that the traditional German preparer turned it into a 4×4² version, which means that the ground height is almost 60 cm and that the suspension is electronically adjustable.
The driver can individually control the height at the level of the front axle and the rear axle, with four different driving modes: Comfort, Sport, Individual (adjustable to driver’s taste) and Off-Road.
The rear spoiler that extends the roofline, the Pirelli Scorpion ATR all-terrain tires, the lightbar on the windshield, the exclusive front grille and the new bumpers stand out.
Brabus confirmed that only ten copies of this special version 700 4×4² Final Edition will be manufactured, each with a price starting at 209 thousand euros in Germany.

And as expected due to the increased power output, RENNtech’s staff had to tighten the transmission and clutch so they could support these new performance figures. But for those who think a lot, but would like to feel a bit more than the 585 hp produced as standard, RENNtech offers intermediate powertrain kits, ranging from 612 to 825 hp.

Thanks to this increased power, the Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 S is now able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in 3.6 seconds and reach a top speed of 300 km / h – as long as the electronic limiter has been deactivated. The model that can be found at Mercedes-Benz dealers completes the same sprint in 3.8 seconds and its top speed is 280 km / h. On the other hand and not least, it announces an average fuel consumption of 8.4 km / l and CO2 emissions of 270 g / km.
